Jeffery, Hynes Place Top-5 in 110 Hurdles and 400 to Lead Men's Track & Field on Day Two of Championships
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Outdoor Track & Field team continued to push through the Mountain East Conference Championships during day two of competition on Monday.
Freshman Desaun Jeffery made his name known with a fifth place finish in the 110m hurdle prelims, qualifying for finals with a 15.14 time, as sophomore Jack Hynes was another Bobcat to keep his hopes alive, running a 49.29 in the 400m prelims for a fourth place finish and a spot in the finals as well. Sophomore Gage Osborne snuck in a tenth place time of 10:07.46 in the 3000m steeplechase, with junior Brandson Stein seeing 14th with a 10:21.77 time. Sophomore Dalton Kasekamp represented Frostburg in the field events with a tenth place throw of 13.96m in the shot put.
Senior Marquise Burks clocked a 15.77 in the 110m hurdles prelims, while junior Justin Dowell took 12th in the 400m prelims with a 50.97 time and sophomore Isayah Stewart showed a 1:56.00 in the 800m prelims for 14th place, all which were just short of qualifying times.
Frostburg next prepares for the third and final day of the championships, tomorrow, April 29, as the team is currently tied for sixth place overall.
