McCoy Sets Program, Meet Record to Conclude MEC Outdoor Championships
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Track & Field team concluded their three-day MEC Championships in seventh place overall.
Senior Tom McCoy led the way for FSU with an outstanding meet in the pole vault, setting both the program and MEC outdoor meet records at 5.11m. The mark puts him tied for seventh in all of Division II and secured his second consecutive MEC First Team title. Also in the event, junior Ryan Schlauch earned Honorable Mention All-MEC with a lead of 3.90m for third place.
Also securing a spot on the podium, freshman Mason Worley placed third in the 400m hurdles at 54.75, which earns him Honorable Mention All-MEC and the 10th-fastest time in school history. Sophomore Jack Hynes had the next-best FSU finish, taking fifth in the 400m at 58.94, while freshman Desaun Jeffrey placed sixth in the 110m hurdles at 15.27.
The Bobcats rounded out the meet by taking seventh in both relay events, as the team of Jeffrey, Worley, senior Marquise Burks, and freshman Dorian Grubb ran a 44.28 in the 4x100m, while Worley, Hynes, junior Justin Dowell, and freshman Cohen Arbogast had a 3:26.22 in the 4x400m.
