King, Rippeon Sweep MEC Weekly Swimming Honors
BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Junior Dylan King and sophomore Genna Rippeon were named the MEC Men's and Women's Swimmer of the Week, respectively, presented by The Health Plan.
King had six overall top-5 finishes at the Wooster Invitational, held from Thursday through Saturday, as the men's team placed fourth overall. He secured first place in the 100-yard fly with a new program record of 49.38 while also placing second in the 200 fly (1:56.39) and third in the 200 IM (1:54.73). He also was a member of two fourth-place relays in the 400 free (3:11.75) and the 400 medley (3:30.58) and a fifth-place relay in the 800 free (7:20.33).Rippeon led the women's squad to third overall with five total victories at the meet. She took individual wins in the 500-yard free (5:04.28), 400 IM (4:33.61), and the 1,650 free (17:35.47) while also being a member of the winning 400 free (3:36.84) and 800 free (7:55.55) relays.
